Testing in production?? – Hell year!

How would you combine going on a journey implementing big change in work processes, without losing momentum in the portfolio development, AND without putting the quality at risk?

That is indeed one of the bigger challenges we have been given in ebay DK. In this presentation we will give you some insights on how we handle that journey.

We will, among other things, tell you the story about the journey we have put our mindset on – and how we, by moving into using micro services, are moving away from big monoliths – in order to be able to innovate, experiment and to minimize the risk of stuff breaking in the production environments.

All this, and more, will be on the agenda when Louise Rasmussen and Jette Pedersen, Quality Ambassadors from eBay DK, enters the stage.

The Prophecy Fulfilled

Test automation has been the talk of the town for many years, with many experts proclaiming it is the next big shift in testing. This promise has not yet been fulfilled, but with more and more companies doing an agile transformation it is finally about to be fulfilled.

This presentation will look at promises of the past and why they are finally on the brink of realization. We will look at how test automation is being done for the most part currently, and how to actually do it. As an example we will be examining mobile test automation, its weaknesses, how to do it properly, and how to write testcases that are ready for both development and testing, while at the same time involving the business, using behavior driven development.

One thing will get you started on all projects

The software tester’s toolbox is packed with different theories of test design techniques and test competencies. This may be a bit of jungle to navigate in for a software tester. When launching new projects, it is difficult to choose where to start when you do not know all the system details yet. Despite the fact that many testers have a lot of training and certifications, it may seem difficult for each individual to find out where to start and what to do in practice when faced with a new test task.

Sara Stürup Willer has more than 10 years of experience with professional software test. During the years, she has created her own personal way of testing that enables her to start test activities without waiting days or weeks for all documents to be written and reviewed. Sara will shortly introduce this surprisingly simple way of testing and thinking about test in software projects. She will explain why it can be used within almost any software project and how this has helped her bringing more value to the firm as a software tester.
